October 25, 2021 – Poem “Midnight Specials” appears today at Sledgehammer Lit. So glad to return to prose poetry for a bit and also be a part of this amazing lit mag. Absolutely LOVE what they did with this piece. This was the first original piece of work written outside the pieces written for the Tupelo Press 30/30 Project: a true work of desire that was the first of many.

Poem “Fireflies” wins Synkroniciti Magazine’s ‘Transcend’ Poetry Contest!!!
October 23, 2021 – Poem “Fireflies” will be featured at Synkroniciti Magazine on November 30, 2021 (in issue #10) as the winner of their ‘Transcend’ Poetry Contest.
Synkroniciti Magazine says, “Synkroniciti is honored to select Texan poet David Estringel’s “Fireflies” as the winner of our “Transcend” poetry contest. Lush and vulnerable, “Fireflies” invites us to gaze in wonder at the joy of childhood–that brief time when we are carefree and unaware of sorrow. Hope, memory, and regret weave themselves together in a bittersweet tribute to playfulness. David’s poetry is full of sensual music that celebrates the simple miracles of being alive, all the while acknowledging the agony of their inevitable passing.”
